The Zelda is a “devilishly mad aperitif cocktail” from the Bar Hemingway at the Ritz Paris. Mix this tequila refresher to toast F. Scott Fitzgerald’s wife and partner in crime on the 90th anniversary of The Great Gatsby.
By Colin Peter Field
4/10 lemon juice
2 drops Pili Pili (devil peppers maccerated in vodka)
Something mad (rather like F. Scott Fitzgerald’s wife, Zelda) that I invented on the opening of Bar Hemingway. I got the idea from a visit to a Tex-Mex restaurant. The more I ate those tortilla chips with the delicious tomato dip, the more I wanted to eat more tortilla chips with that delicious tomato dip. That’s not fair! With the Zelda, the more you drink, the more you’re thirsty.
